American Airstrike in Iraq Targets Iranian "Terrorists"

AFP just put this story up: Double US air strike kills 25 in Iraq.
An AFP photographer saw at least four trucks, each carrying several bodies from the village, being driven through Baghdad to the Shiite holy city of Najaf for burial. One of the dead was clearly an elderly man.
So, it's this again. They say we hit civilians. We have someone there saying no we didn't. The key here is that using air strikes against "terrorist" Iranians is becoming common place. We already know that George and Dick think they can attack "terrorists" anywhere. And away we go...
The decision to carry out the air strikes came when US forces saw an insurgent carrying what appeared to be an anti-aircraft weapon, according to the military.
Now, all US forces have to do is think they see something bad, and we can attack and kill anyone in the area. Maybe it was an anti-aircraft weapon. Maybe not. But how did they happen to know that these were Iranians? Must've been some other information these American troops had, so that they were already watching them, looking for a reason to bomb the area.
This is just another attack that fits the pattern. Get a lock on some Iranians. See something suspicious. Bomb them or otherwise kill them and anyone in the area. Then claim they were with the Quds force.
The US military said the target of Friday's operation was a "Special Groups commander believed to be associated with members of the Iranian Revolutionary Guards, Quds Force."
The military spokesman said that this "commander" apparently got away. How convenient that there's no proof that any of what the military says happened actually happened.
Will we get a chance to prove that diplomacy works? How long before these types of operations happen near the Iranian border? How long before these types of operations stray across the border? How long before John Bolton gets his way?
"I only hope the president has the good sense to bomb Iran before this diplomacy nonsense spreads any further." -- John Bolton
I only hope that John Bolton has the good sense to shut his mouth, and that the well-protected State Department can stop this runaway neo-con train wreck.
